Bombers rebuild continues as they take damaging left-footer as mid-season No.1
Essendon selected running defender Jaxon Artemis at No.1 in the 2026 mid-season rookie draft Wednesday, beginning their post-Brad Scott rebuild. The 19-year-old left-footer starred for Tasmania Devils in the VFL after joining from South Fremantle's 2025 premiership team. Artemis could debut as early as this week after the Bombers slumped to last place following Friday's Dreamtime at the 'G.
