Wilson to slash public service in $22 billion budget repair plan
Opposition Leader Jess Wilson on Friday will unveil a plan to cut one in seven Victorian public service jobs and return the state budget to surplus within six years. The hiring freeze would reduce public sector positions from 49,408 to 42,224 by July 2029, saving $22 billion over a decade, according to Parliamentary Budget Office modelling.
