Critical widens NZ tungsten hunt as prices explode
Critical Resources expanded its New Zealand tungsten exploration permit over the Barrytown granite pluton on Tuesday as prices surge. Ammonium paratungstate has climbed to US$3,200 per metric tonne unit from US$335 in January 2025, driven by Chinese export restrictions and Western demand. The company's Granite Creek prospect has yielded historic samples grading up to 42.6 percent tungsten trioxide.
