WA renters paint grim picture as affordability ‘collapses’ across the state

West Australian renters need a household income of nearly $130,000 annually to afford median rent and avoid housing stress, according to Anglicare WA's latest Rental Affordability Snapshot. Median weekly rent hit $747, up 74 percent since 2021, with virtually no properties affordable for low-income households. Just one rental nationwide was deemed affordable for JobSeeker recipients.
