Numerous cases of hantavirus identified aboard luxury cruise MV Hondius
Seven hantavirus cases including three deaths have been identified on luxury cruise ship MV Hondius off West Africa, with the World Health Organization confirming two cases and suspecting five others as of May 4, 2026. About 150 passengers remain aboard the Dutch-flagged vessel after victims from the Netherlands, Germany and Britain.
