Oil prices ease as US seeks reopening of the Hormuz Strait
President Donald Trump said Tuesday the US would pause its Strait of Hormuz operation to pursue a deal with Iran, easing tensions that had spiked oil prices above 6% earlier in the week. Brent crude fell 1.4% to $108.40 a barrel as negotiations progress. The strait handles roughly a fifth of global oil and gas shipments.
