Brazilian film "Carolina Maria de Jesus" wins top award at Cannes showcase
Brazilian director Jeferson De's "Carolina Maria de Jesus" won the A.H. Media Production Award at this year's Goes to Cannes showcase. The film, in post-production, adapts the 1960 bestseller "Child of the Dark," following the true story of a waste picker in a São Paulo favela who overcomes poverty and racism through talent and determination.
