Study finds top films favor male leads named Chris over older women
A U.K. study found top-grossing films are more likely to feature a male lead actor named Chris than a woman over 60, with talking animals appearing four times more frequently as leads. Of the 100 highest-grossing films from 2023-2025, six starred a Chris while only five featured older female leads.
