‘Really urgent’: Teen vaccine rates tumble, leaving cancer elimination in doubt
Australia’s goal to eliminate cervical cancer by 2035 is under threat amid a worrying national decline in vaccinations. Adolescent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination coverage tumbled to a record low of 78.7 per cent in girls and 75.6 per cent in boys last year, according to the latest statistics from the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance.
