Orphaned baby hippo to be hand-reared by keepers at Kenya sanctuary
A newborn hippo named Bumpy orphaned at a Kenyan lake is now being hand-reared by keepers at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust sanctuary. The calf, found nudging its dead mother, was airlifted to the Kaluku sanctuary near Tsavo East National Park where keepers provide round-the-clock care. The hippo will be released into the wild once mature.
