Hundreds of inner Sydney homes to be bulldozed for 3300 units
NSW began demolishing hundreds of public housing units in inner Sydney's Waterloo estate Wednesday, with plans to build 3300 homes including social and private apartments up to 33 storeys. The $4 billion overhaul, Australia's largest social housing renewal, will not deliver completed homes until 2035. About half will be private, 30 percent social housing, and 20 percent affordable rental.
