Hyena's all smiles with new gold-coloured crown over problem tooth
Jabali, a three-year-old spotted hyena at Monarto Safari Park, received a custom gold-colored metal crown to repair teeth damaged by an early-life injury. Veterinarian Dr Oliver Funnell said the dental problems prevented the animal from chewing properly. The crown, made strong enough to withstand a hyena's powerful bite, has restored Jabali's ability to eat bones.
