Helena Teede renames polycystic ovary syndrome to better reflect metabolic disorder
Australian endocrinologist Helena Teede announced Tuesday that polycystic ovary syndrome is now called polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, or PMOS. The 14-year study involving 22,000 respondents found the old name was misleading since ovarian cysts aren't the primary issue.
