Indigenous man completes 500km walk to demand national truth-telling process
Travis Lovett completed a 38-day, 500-kilometre walk to Parliament House on Tuesday, presenting Prime Minister Anthony Albanese a kangaroo skin calling for national truth-telling about Indigenous history. The Kerrupmara Gunditjmara man finished the journey 59 years after the 1967 referendum granting Aboriginal voting rights. Albanese committed only to a part-time Makarrata commission, not a formal truth-telling process.
