Australia deploys Wedgetail aircraft to reopen critical Hormuz shipping strait
Australia will deploy its E-7A Wedgetail surveillance aircraft to join a UK and France-led multinational mission reopening the strait of Hormuz, Defence Minister Richard Marles said Wednesday. The aircraft, already stationed in the UAE with approximately 85 defence force staff since March, will shift focus to the critical shipping channel closed since February.
