Islamic State-linked families stuck because of Australia’s refusal: Syrian officials
Thirteen Australian women and children left a Syrian camp housing Islamic State-linked families on Friday but remain stranded after Australia's government refused their reentry. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong stated Wednesday that Australia is providing no repatriation support or assistance. Syrian authorities turned the families back before they reached Damascus International Airport.
