Essendon great Neale Daniher died Monday aged 65 after battling motor neurone disease since 2013. His brother Terry praised Neale's courage and selflessness, noting their mother Edna visited to say goodbye before returning to their New South Wales farm. Through his FightMND charity, Neale raised over $115 million for research and was named Australian of the Year in 2025.
