Man sentenced to life for hiring sniper to kill Rebels boss Nick
David Pye, 43, was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday for hiring sniper Ben Johnston to assassinate Rebels boss Nick Martin at a Western Australian motorplex in December 2020. Justice Joseph McGrath called Pye the "architect" of the killing and ordered he serve at least 34 years before parole eligibility. Pye showed no remorse and denied involvement despite conviction.
