Booming cockroach numbers welcome news on this 'paradise of creatures'
Invertebrate populations on Lord Howe Island have surged 60 percent since invasive rodents were eradicated in 2019, a new study shows. Native cockroaches and larger insects rebounded most strongly after more than 300,000 rats and mice were removed from the World Heritage site.
