Much-loved Hawthorn champion Geoff Ablett loses MND battle, aged 71
Geoff Ablett, brother of AFL legend Gary Ablett Snr and a Hawthorn champion, has died aged 71 from motor neurone disease. The speedster played over 200 games for the Hawks, including their 1976 and 1978 premierships, and won four grand final sprints. He was diagnosed with MND in December after months of health struggles.
