US House votes to end government shutdown over immigration operations

The US House approved a Senate bill ending a 76-day partial government shutdown affecting the Department of Homeland Security. The voice vote restored funding to much of DHS, the longest shutdown in the agency's history. The measure, supported by President Trump, reopens DHS but excludes new funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and US Border Patrol.
