Joe Hockey warns US may fail to deliver nuclear submarines under AUKUS
Former Australian ambassador Joe Hockey said he is nervous the United States will not deliver nuclear submarines to Australia under AUKUS because US shipyards cannot produce Virginia-class submarines fast enough. The US Navy currently builds 1.2 submarines annually but needs to reach 2.3 annually to honor the pact starting 2032.
