‘Significant win’: Swan Valley residents cheer power-down of $600m data centre plans
Swan Valley residents successfully blocked a $600 million data centre after sustained community opposition. Sydney-based GreenSquareDC withdrew its application on May 13 following concerns about environmental impact and proximity to the Helena River and Aboriginal heritage sites. The City of Swan received 1,829 objections out of 1,890 total submissions on the controversial proposal.
