Matt Shakman directs new Planet of the Apes film for 20th Century
Matt Shakman, who directed "Fantastic Four: First Steps," will helm a new "Planet of the Apes" film for 20th Century Studios. Screenwriter Josh Friedman, who penned both that Marvel film and "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes," returns for the project. The last installment grossed nearly $400 million worldwide on a $160 million budget.
