Aussie great denied in pumping Margaret River surf
Eight-time world surfing champion Stephanie Gilmore lost in round one at Margaret River on Thursday, beaten by Canada’s Erin Brooks 12.50 to 12.24. Gilmore needed a 6.67 score but received a 6.37, leaving her winless since returning to full-time competition. Gilmore also lost in her first heat at Bells Beach earlier this month.
