‘Very strong’ El Nino event now in full swing: BoM
The Bureau of Meteorology declared a 'very strong' El Nino event on Monday, forecasting severe impacts including drought and bushfires this summer. The US NOAA noted a 63 percent chance this El Nino could be among the largest since 1950. Previous El Nino conditions resulted in Australia's driest recorded months in 2023.
