Labor MP's character reference backs convicted sex offender's citizenship bid
Victorian Labor MP Luba Grigorovitch provided a character reference for Muhammad Isa, a former Geelong taxi driver convicted of multiple indecent assaults, an Administrative Review Tribunal revealed May 15. The tribunal denied Isa Australian citizenship, finding he lacked required good character. Grigorovitch's office said she was unaware of his 2013 crimes when providing the reference.
