Former Jacqui Lambie senator makes surprise switch to Labor
Independent Tasmanian senator Tammy Tyrrell switched to the Labor Party on Thursday, abandoning the Jacqui Lambie Network after a falling out with its leader. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese praised Tyrrell as a good faith negotiator and fighter for Tasmania. Tyrrell is the second senator to join Labor in two years, following Greens senator Dorinda Cox's switch.
