Alex Rance reveals he disliked AFL's competitive nature and struggled mentally
Richmond great Alex Rance revealed on a podcast Wednesday he disliked the competitive nature of AFL, saying he struggled with making opponents' days worse. The five-time All-Australian defender, who retired prematurely in 2019 after an ACL injury, said game day required a "mask" that drained his energy.
