Purdue Pharma expected to forfeit $225m as sentence in criminal opioids case
Purdue Pharma is set to forfeit $225 million to the U.S. justice department as part of a settlement related to its role in the opioid crisis. The company, which pleaded guilty to federal charges in 2020, will also facilitate payments of up to $7 billion from the Sackler family to various governments and victims over 15 years.
