Pride pinning hopes on first-up repeat from versatile veteran
Trainer Joe Pride backs veteran Estadio Mestalla to repeat his first-up heroics in Saturday's Hawkesbury Gold Rush, despite drawing gate 14 and carrying 61 kilograms. The seven-year-old won the Choisir Handicap last spring under similar circumstances with jockey Adam Hyeronimus. Pride said the versatile horse never runs poorly and could target the group 1 Stradbroke Handicap next month.
