Robots move in as waste firms struggle to find staff
Sharp Group, a London-based waste management firm, is deploying a humanoid robot called Alpha to sort recyclables as staff turnover reaches 40% annually. The robot, built by Chinese firm RealMan Robotics and adapted by TeknTrash Robotics, learns through AI training to identify and pick items from conveyor belts. The humanoid design allows integration into existing facilities without costly redesigns.
