‘No longer science fiction’: Gold Coast joins race for flying taxis
Gold Coast signed an agreement with Skyports Infrastructure on Tuesday to develop three or four "vertiports" for electric flying taxis across the city. Trips from the airport to Broadbeach could drop from 45 minutes by car to five to seven minutes by air. Vertiport construction typically takes 12 to 18 months.
