‘Serious allegation’: Senior WHS officer accused of ‘working’ for CFMEU
A senior Queensland workplace regulator accused a colleague Wednesday of working on behalf of the CFMEU union, possibly for financial gain. Paul Smith, regional director of Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, told the CFMEU inquiry that Helen Burgess, a former construction compliance director in a relationship with ex-union leader Royce Kupsch, consistently sided with the union over government obligations.
