Jewellery store owner found guilty of staging $2.8 million heist
Jewellery store owner Michel Germani was found guilty of staging a multimillion-dollar heist at his Germani Jewellers in Sydney's Hilton Hotel in January 2023. The 67-year-old orchestrated the ruse to claim $2.8 million in insurance before facing eviction over a $184,000 rental debt. Germani and accomplice Mounir Helou will be sentenced on May 21.
