Brush turkey survives six months with arrow embedded in shoulder
A brush turkey dubbed "Arrowyn" was rescued Tuesday in East Gosford after surviving six months with an arrow embedded in its shoulder. The bird wandered into resident Phil Rutherford's kitchen, allowing wildlife carers to finally capture it. A veterinarian successfully removed the 70-centimeter arrow, which had miraculously missed vital organs, and expects a full recovery before its release.
