Senior classes arrive in remote outback town after 150 years
Gulf Christian College in Normanton opened year 11 and 12 classes for the first time in the remote Queensland town's 150-year history. Six students enrolled in the inaugural year 12 cohort, ending the need for regional families to send children to distant boarding schools. The expansion aims to boost literacy and numeracy rates across the Gulf of Carpentaria region.
