Reserve Bank research released Thursday shows wealthy older Australians have captured a growing share of the property market using negative gearing and capital gains tax breaks, pushing up house prices for lower and middle-income earners. The median age of property investors climbed from 45 to 51 since 2000, with those over 60 doubling to 28 percent of the investor.
