NSW removes character references from sexual assault sentencing guidelines
NSW abolished good character references as a mitigating factor in sexual assault sentencing Monday, but the government says reforms didn't go far enough. Attorney-General Michael Daley reintroduced a bill seeking to remove character references for all crimes, after the Coalition and Greens blocked the original measure in the upper house.
