One dead after car hits pedestrians in Melbourne, police say
One person died and another was seriously injured after a car struck pedestrians on Langs Road in Ascot Vale, Melbourne, on Saturday at around 17:00. Police arrested a man at the scene outside the Supanova Comic Con & Gaming event, investigating whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision. An off-duty officer assisted in detaining the driver.
