Ted Turner, CNN founder and cable television pioneer, dies at 87
Ted Turner, the cable television pioneer who founded CNN and built Turner Broadcasting System, died Wednesday at 87, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav announced. Turner launched CNN in 1980 as the first 24-hour news network and created WTBS and Turner Classic Movies.
