Australia deploys Wedgetail aircraft to secure Middle East shipping lanes
Australia will redeploy its E-7A Wedgetail early warning aircraft to the Middle East to support international efforts securing the Strait of Hormuz, Defence Minister Richard Marles announced Tuesday. The move follows a virtual meeting of defence ministers from over 40 countries led by the UK and France. The aircraft previously deployed in March to defend the UAE from Iranian attacks.
