Kingfisher maintains profit outlook despite B&Q sales fall in wet quarter
Kingfisher, owner of B&Q and Screwfix, maintained its full-year profit outlook despite wet Easter weather depressing first-quarter sales by 0.9%. B&Q sales fell 4.1% as rain deterred customers from buying barbecues and garden products, though Screwfix revenue climbed 4.1%. The retailer expects pre-tax profit between £565m and £625m this year, lifting its share price 3% to top the FTSE 100.
