Carol Rumens, Guardian poet columnist, dies aged 81 from brain tumour
British poet Carol Rumens, who wrote the Guardian's beloved poem of the week column for nearly 20 years, died April 25 aged 81 after a brain tumour diagnosis. Her politically charged work appeared in more than a dozen collections, and she also published poetry translations from Russian. Over two decades, Rumens analysed almost 1,000 poems for her much-followed column.
