Stephen Colbert develops new Lord of the Rings film with Peter Jackson's
Director Peter Jackson said Stephen Colbert pitched a new "Lord of the Rings" film a year ago, before CBS canceled "The Late Show." Jackson told Variety at Cannes that Colbert, who he praised for his Tolkien knowledge, has spent the past year developing the project with screenwriter Philippa Boyens.
