Iran's supreme leader signals plans to maintain control of Strait of Hormuz
Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei vowed to maintain control of the Strait of Hormuz, stating "legal rules and new management" would benefit the region. Through which a fifth of global crude oil transits, the waterway's closure has pushed Brent crude above $126 per barrel, pressuring President Trump to pursue diplomatic options reopening the critical passageway.
