Australian giant Coles misled shoppers with fake discounts, court rules
Australia's federal court ruled Thursday that supermarket giant Coles misled shoppers with fake discounts under its "Down Down" promotions on 245 products between February 2022 and May 2023. Justice Michael O'Bryan found 13 of 14 sample products did not represent genuine savings, requiring items be sold at higher prices for at least 12 weeks beforehand.
