Liddell power station chimneys come crashing down
AGL detonated explosives to demolish the Liddell power station's two 168-meter concrete chimneys on Wednesday, nearly a year after the coal facility closed near Muswellbrook in New South Wales. The site will be transformed into a renewable energy hub with a grid-scale battery system. The power station operated for over fifty years before aging equipment made it increasingly unreliable.
