Young boy defies odds after car accident, begins breathing independently
Seven-year-old Phoenix Heazlewood was struck by a car on May 8 in Cooloongup, Western Australia, after walking in front of a bus. Doctors removed part of his skull to reduce pressure from extensive brain damage, but the boy has begun breathing independently, defying initial prognosis. His family hopes he will recover the ability.
