AFL excludes Carlton and Essendon from prime-time games in 2026 season
The AFL has excluded struggling Carlton and Essendon from prime-time slots in rounds 16-22 of the 2026 season. Sydney and Geelong lead with four prime-time games each, while the bottom-placed Blues and Bombers receive zero. Richmond, Gold Coast and Port Adelaide also missed out on Thursday and Friday night free-to-air television.
